JSC “Turbokholod” successfully passed competitive tests and became the winner in the tender of PJSC “NOVATEK” for the supply of turboexpanders. The units will be used for the development of the Salmanovskoye (Utrenneye) oil and gas condensate field, the main source of raw materials for the new polar LNG plant under construction as part of the large-scale “Arctic LNG-2” project. Construction of the plant’s production facilities for producing liquefied natural gas will be completed in 2026. During this period, three production lines with a total capacity of 19.8 million tons of gas per year will be put into operation. Investment in the “Arctic LNG-2” project will amount to 21.3 billion dollars.

JSC “Turbokholod” will become an active participant in this project, which has a great significance to PJSC “NOVATEK”. As a result of the tender, the company will deliver an integrated solution: 8 complete turboexpander units of the ADKG-10 series with shut-off and control skid valves.

In accordance with the technology, the preliminarily prepared gas from the field will be delivered to the integrated gas treatment plants (UKPG-1 and UKPG-2) using the low-temperature separation technology (LTS), where the liquid phase will be separated from the feedstock under the influence of low temperatures. Cooling for unit UPKG 1,2, as a result of isentropic expansion of raw gas, will support the turboexpanders of JSC “Turbokholod”.

Gas expansion in a turboexpander is the most effective technology today. It provides minimal costs, metal consumption and other economic and production indicators in comparison with the throttle and other refrigeration units built on other principles.The technology and quality of production offered by “Turbokholod” JSC were evaluated by the customer and provided the domestic manufacturer with a victory in the tender competing with major foreign players in the global technology market.

In addition to the supply of turboexpanders with a full set of design and engineering documentation, “Turbokholod” company undertakes to provide PJSC “NOVATEK” with related services: installation supervision and commissioning of units, as well as staff training.
